Figma Make Prototype
Interactive Sparkline Chart
The sparkline component (currently only functional on desktop) is a prototype designed from a sketch I did while working at Charles River Labs. The chart above is fully interactive and is a prototype created in Figma Make based on elements created in Figma with type and colors that align with the CRL design system).
The product was a platform for tracking study data over time, and studies had dozens of subjects with hundreds of data points recorded per day. The MVP showed this data in a large table that was hard to parse, and user interviews revealed that scientists were primarily looking for spikes or anomalies in the data.
I explored a number of concepts that displayed the data in different ways, and the product that was developed used a series of graphs so that users could quickly evaluate the data in different slices to find anomalies. The sparkline was another approach that wasn't a final option, but is something that I think could have been added to the platform later so users could quickly see how occurrences of a particular symptom had increased over time.
